Visingsö

According to the legend, Visingsö was created when the giant Vist threw a tuft of grass into the Vättern lake, making sure his woman had something to step on. “The tuft of grass" is still buzzing with life just like a thousand years ago.
At Visingsö there are a lot of remnants from the stone age and forward. During the middle ages, the Swedish Kings ruled from their fort at the southern cape and in the 1600´s the island became the centre of the BraheCounty which stretches on both sides of the lake. Today, you can enjoy historic remnants, beautiful nature, arts and much more on beautiful Visingsö.
