Visingsö
According to the legend, Visingsö was created when the giant Vist threw a tuft of grass into the Vättern lake, making sure his woman had something to step on. “The tuft of grass" is still buzzing with life just like a thousand years ago.
At Visingsö there are a lot of remnants from the stone age and forward. During the middle ages, the Swedish Kings ruled from their fort at the southern cape and in the 1600´s the island became the centre of the BraheCounty which stretches on both sides of the lake.
